Arsenal Begin Pre-Season Preparations Amid Euro 2024 and Copa America Commitments
Arsenal are ramping up preparations for the new season as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title once again.
While many players have returned for pre-season training, others remain occupied with Euro 2024 or Copa America, causing some delays in Mikel Arteta’s preparations.
Arsenal had 11 players competing in the Euros this summer, which has somewhat hindered the start of Arteta’s pre-season plans.
The return of these players will be staggered, depending on their respective teams’ progress in the tournaments.

Despite these challenges, Arteta is now clear about who fits into his plans for the upcoming season.
He is also considering potential new signings and departures. However, the futures of players like Reiss Nelson, Thomas Partey, and Emile Smith Rowe remain uncertain, leaving fans in suspense.
In contrast, Albert Sambi Lokonga’s situation is more straightforward. Lokonga recently posted on Instagram about training alone, signaling his impending departure from Arsenal.
After spending last season on loan at Luton Town, Lokonga openly admitted that he sees no future at the Emirates.
Sources have confirmed that the 24-year-old midfielder has agreed to terms with La Liga side Sevilla. “Preparing for what’s next,” Lokonga wrote, indicating his readiness for a new chapter in Spain.
Lokonga, who joined Arsenal for £17 million from Anderlecht in 2021, was initially seen as a promising talent.
However, he struggled to find his footing at the club during a period of heightened competition and improvement under Arteta. While his time at Arsenal didn’t pan out as hoped, the Belgian star has ample time to revive his career in Spain.
As Arsenal gear up for the new season, Arteta will look to finalize his squad and build a cohesive unit capable of mounting a serious title challenge.
