Bayern Munich Push for Jamal Musiala Contract Extension Amid Manchester United and Arsenal Interest
Bayern Munich are making significant strides in contract negotiations with Jamal Musiala, one of Europe’s most promising young midfielders, after earlier challenges in securing his long-term future at the club.
Musiala’s current deal, which expires in the summer of 2026, has attracted interest from major European clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Real Madrid.
Despite this, Bayern are determined to keep hold of their star and have reportedly made progress in recent discussions.
Initially, Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl had admitted that talks were not proceeding as smoothly as hoped, with Musiala reportedly seeking a salary in the region of £300,000 a week, comparable to star forward Harry Kane.
However, recent reports from German media suggest that negotiations have turned more positive, with “very positive” talks indicating Bayern’s growing confidence in extending Musiala’s contract.
The 21-year-old playmaker has been in exceptional form, already scoring three goals and providing two assists for Bayern this season.
Musiala also recently earned joint-winner status for the Euro 2024 golden boot, further enhancing his value to the Bavarian giants. Bayern has placed a valuation of £120 million on him, but the club remains reluctant to sell even at that price, with club president Herbert Hainer reaffirming Bayern’s commitment to keeping Musiala long-term.
Eberl recently updated fans on the status of the negotiations, emphasizing the club’s ambition and Musiala’s connection to Bayern, where he has developed into one of Europe’s top talents.
Eberl stated that talks were “intensifying” and added, “We are extremely ambitious, and he knows that he wants to win titles.” This breakthrough marks a crucial moment as Bayern Munich aim to fend off interest from rival clubs and secure Musiala’s future at the Allianz Arena.
