Adrien Rabiot Transfer to Marseille Confirmed After Mother Denies Advanced Talks with Manchester United
Adrien Rabiot is set to join Marseille after leaving Juventus as a free agent at the end of last season. The 29-year-old French midfielder, who has been linked with numerous top European clubs, including Manchester United, is now on the verge of completing a move back to Ligue 1.
Marseille announced that they have reached an agreement with Rabiot, pending the outcome of his medical examination.
Rabiot had previously been linked to Manchester United, with his mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot, confirming that United showed interest two years ago during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tenure. However, talks never progressed into serious negotiations as Rabiot decided to remain in Turin.
Recent speculation suggested that United might still pursue the midfielder despite signing Manuel Ugarte from PSG on deadline day, but that move did not materialize.
Veronique also clarified that a return to Juventus was not considered, putting an end to rumors of a reunion with the Italian club. Rabiot’s move to Marseille marks a return to France after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2019 for Juventus, where he spent four years.
