Al-Nassr Withdraws from Ederson Negotiations
Manchester City have seen a series of departures this transfer window, with five players already offloaded, primarily youngsters and fringe players like Sergio Gomez. Despite this, Pep Guardiola has retained all his first-team stars.
One player surrounded by transfer speculation is Ederson. The Brazilian goalkeeper has been pursued by Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, who offered him a staggering £900,000 per week.
Despite personal terms being agreed since early July, Manchester City and Al-Nassr failed to reach an agreement on the transfer fee.
Journalist Rudy Galetti reported that Al-Nassr has now withdrawn from negotiations after their latest bid of around £25 million was rejected by City.

💰 As told 3 days ago, the 🇸🇦 club sent the €30m bid to #MCFC last Friday, after having agreed personal terms with the 🇧🇷 GK at the beginning of Jul. https://t.co/eINvLXfyuP pic.twitter.com/ww2X8hs15O
This development suggests the deal is off for now, with the Saudi club needing to significantly increase their offer to revive talks.
Ederson, who recently returned to pre-season training after Brazil’s Copa America exit, remains a crucial player for City. His exceptional ball-playing abilities and integral role in City’s playing style make his potential retention a significant boost for Guardiola’s side.
City fans will be relieved if Ederson stays, as he has been a key figure since his £35 million transfer in 2017.
Known for his impressive passing range and ability to break lines, Ederson’s presence is invaluable to the team’s strategy.
While there may still be developments, the current situation indicates that Ederson will remain at Manchester City for the upcoming season.
