Chelsea Forward David Datro Fofana Pushing for Transfer Exit Amid Lack of Game Time
Chelsea forward David Datro Fofana is reportedly keen on leaving Stamford Bridge this month, seeking more regular game time after being deemed surplus to requirements by head coach Enzo Maresca.
Fofana, who joined Chelsea in January 2023 from Molde for €12m (£10.1m), had limited opportunities at Stamford Bridge before being loaned out to Union Berlin and later to Burnley, where he showed promise with four goals and one assist in 15 matches.
Despite interest from Everton and Championship clubs like Sunderland, Fofana couldn’t secure a move before the English transfer window closed.
However, the Ivorian international is determined to find a new club where he can play more regularly. While the transfer windows in Europe’s major leagues have closed, Fofana still has options in countries like Belgium and Turkey, where the transfer windows remain open until later this month.
Additionally, other countries like Austria, Croatia, Switzerland, Cyprus, and Greece could also provide potential destinations for the young forward.
