Cristiano Ronaldo Urges Manchester United to Seek Guidance from Legends like Ruud van Nistelrooy for Rebuilding Success
Cristiano Ronaldo is closely following Manchester United’s current situation and remains deeply invested in the club’s fortunes.
Despite a dramatic end to his second spell at Old Trafford, which saw his contract terminated following a fallout with Erik ten Hag and an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo continues to hold a special place for the club.
Ronaldo, who scored 145 goals during his two stints at United and is celebrated as a club legend, believes that the team can return to its former glory with the right guidance.
He recently spoke with Rio Ferdinand on FIVE, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, and suggested that Ruud van Nistelrooy could be instrumental in helping Ten Hag rebuild the club.
“If Ten Hag listens to Ruud van Nistelrooy… maybe he can help,” Ronaldo said. “He knows the club, and the club should listen to those who have been there.”
In addition to Van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo named other United legends he believes could contribute to the club’s revival: Rio Ferdinand, Roy Keane, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, and Sir Alex Ferguson. “You cannot rebuild a club without knowledge,” Ronaldo added.
Ronaldo also acknowledged that he is beginning to see positive changes at United, particularly with Ineos leading the charge.
He commented on the ongoing transformation, stating, “Man United need time to rebuild because it’s still one of the best clubs in the world, but they need to change.
They understand that. This is why they show, they have started to change again, the structure of the club, the president, the infrastructure and everything.”
Ronaldo expressed satisfaction with the progress being made, particularly the investment in the training ground and Old Trafford, which had seen little to no investment for two decades.
“I’m happy because things are changing,” Ronaldo said. “I’m not happy with the way it all happened, but in the same way, we cannot control some points of our life sometimes, but it’s done, already done.”
