Declan Rice Reveals Harry Maguire’s New Nickname After England’s Nations League Success
Declan Rice has revealed Harry Maguire’s new nickname following England’s successful international break.
Maguire, alongside Rice, played a key role in England’s two Nations League victories, which marked a strong start under interim manager Lee Carsley, who replaced Gareth Southgate after Euro 2024.
After England’s 2-0 win over Finland, Maguire posted on Instagram to celebrate the successful campaign. In response, Rice commented with Maguire’s new nickname, calling him “Tony,” which prompted laughter from Jack Grealish and attention from teammates like James Maddison and Youri Tielemans.
Maguire, who has faced some challenges at Manchester United, was dropped for their 3-0 loss to Liverpool before the international break.
He had started United’s first two Premier League games but was replaced by new signing Matthijs de Ligt.
Maguire may now face competition as Erik ten Hag looks to rebuild his squad, with United returning to action against Southampton, aiming to bounce back from consecutive losses.
