Early Arsenal Team News for Manchester United Clash: Timber Rejoins Squad
Jurrien Timber has returned to Arsenal’s first-team squad for the match against Manchester United, and he will travel with the club.
Jurrien Timber has joined Arsenal’s squad ahead of their Sunday afternoon match against Manchester United.
According to social media reports, long-term injury absentee Timber is with the team in Manchester and has a chance to make the final 20 for the game, albeit that has yet to be confirmed.
Whether Timber reaches the final roster or not, this is another step forward. The defender did not join his teammates for the previous game against Bournemouth, but he did this time.
Arsenal has had a pair of injury concerns this week, with Takehiro Tomiyasu skipping a training session to perform individual work indoors and Bukayo Saka wearing strapping in training after a kick against Bournemouth last weekend.
When asked about Tomiyasu and Saka during his pre-Manchester United press conference on Friday, Mikel Arteta conceded they were among the doubts.
“We have a few doubts that tomorrow (Saturday) can resolve because we have another training session so we will have to wait and see,” Arteta stated.
“There are doubts over the names that you discussed (Tomiyasu and Saka).”
Timber was in full training this week after playing a couple of games for Arsenal’s under-21s. We will find out this afternoon whether Arteta intends to include him in the final matchday squad or not.
