Erling Haaland Dismisses Marc Cucurella After Viral Chant and Dominates on the Pitch
Erling Haaland didn’t hold back as he responded to a viral chant from Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella, showing his dominance both during and after Manchester City’s Premier League win against Chelsea.
Haaland, whose name was mentioned in a celebratory chant by Cucurella following Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph, chose to let his performance on the pitch do the talking.

During the match at Stamford Bridge, Haaland demonstrated his strength and skill by opening the scoring for City in the 18th minute
He received the ball inside the box, brushed off Cucurella’s attempts to stop him, and elegantly chipped the ball over Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
This goal set the tone for City’s victory, which was later sealed by a long-range strike from Mateo Kovacic.
The encounter between Haaland and Cucurella was highly anticipated, especially after Cucurella had taken aim at the Norwegian striker during Spain’s Euro 2024 celebrations.
The Spanish defender had sung a chant that went viral, teasing Haaland by suggesting that he “trembles” at the thought of facing Cucurella.
However, when Cucurella picked up an injury late in the match, Haaland showed no sympathy. He was seen walking past the injured Chelsea player without offering assistance, leaving Cucurella to be helped by his teammates Enzo Fernandez and Pedro Neto.
After the match, Haaland took another jab at Cucurella during an interview with Viaplay. He revealed that Cucurella had previously asked for his shirt last season, only to turn around and mock him with the chant.
Haaland remarked, “Well, Cucurella is a funny man. Last season he asked for my shirt… and this summer he sings a song about me.”
