Jack Grealish narrowly avoided what could have been a disastrous fall during Manchester City’s open-top bus parade celebrating their fourth consecutive Premier League title on Sunday afternoon. The parade, filled with jubilant scenes, showcased the players and staff reveling in their hard-earned success.
A Close Call for Grealish
Grealish, known for his exuberant celebrations, was nearly thrown off the top of the bus not once, but twice during the parade. In a widely circulated clip on social media platform X, Grealish is seen dancing with his hands in the air before the bus suddenly moved forward, almost causing him to lose his balance. Fortunately, teammate Jeremy Doku was quick to react, catching Grealish and guiding him to safety.

In another video from a fan’s perspective, Grealish is seen standing with Rodri, singing along with the fans. As the bus set off, both players were jolted forward, but Rodri’s quick reflexes ensured Grealish remained on the bus by sticking an arm across him to prevent a fall.

The parade saw other City stars such as Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, and Kevin De Bruyne enjoying the festivities. Reflecting on the season, Foden remarked on its special nature and the team’s continued hunger for success. Haaland echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in the club and its achievements.
Manager Pep Guardiola also addressed the fans, celebrating the team’s accomplishments and promising more success in the future. Guardiola’s trademark celebratory cigar made its usual appearance, symbolizing the triumphs the team has enjoyed under his leadership.
Thousands of City supporters braved the rain to line the streets of Manchester, eager to join in the celebrations. Fans were seen climbing scaffolding across the city center, seeking the best vantage points to witness the parade. The route started from Cathedral Gardens, passed through Exchange Square, and concluded outside the Hilton Hotel.
The parade was not just about the Premier League title. Manchester City also showcased their Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup titles, adding to the celebration’s grandeur. Despite a recent FA Cup final defeat to rivals Manchester United, the team’s spirits remained high as they partied on the bus.
City’s success this season has been a testament to their resilience and determination. Grealish’s near-misses during the parade served as a reminder of the exuberance and passion that drives the team, both on and off the field. The celebrations highlighted the unity and joy within the squad, setting the stage for more memorable moments in the seasons to come.
