Impressive Performances Earn JJ Gabriel Promotion to Manchester United U18s
Manchester United’s young talent JJ Gabriel has reportedly been elevated to the club’s U18s after impressing coaches with his standout performances.
According to the Daily Mail, Gabriel, who just turned 14, has already shown he is too advanced for the U16s level. He has earned the nickname “Kid Messi” on social media and has been a regular for the U16s since he was 13.
While there is no rush to have him start for the U18s, the coaching staff has been highly impressed with his skills and has included him in training sessions with older players to further assess his abilities. Gabriel is regarded as one of the most promising talents in the Manchester United academy.
This summer, he received the Most Valuable Player award at a pre-season tournament in Hong Kong, where he scored two goals and assisted two more, with former United striker Dimitar Berbatov presenting him the prize.
In April, Gabriel participated in a warm-up session with the U18s before their Premier League Cup final against Manchester City, allowing him a glimpse of the competition he could face in the future. Given his current trajectory, it seems likely that fans will soon see Gabriel play for the U18s.
Meanwhile, the senior Manchester United team is scheduled to return to action on October 19 against Brentford.
