Liverpool Fans’ Frustration Continues Despite Victory Over Tottenham: One Player Under Scrutiny
Liverpool fans expressed their feelings following their 4-2 victory over Tottenham.
Despite a 4-2 victory over Tottenham, Liverpool fans have had enough of one player.
Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Sunday, defeating Tottenham 4-2 at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo, and Harvey Elliott all scored to help the Reds secure three points.
Even though Liverpool won, fans online targeted Darwin Nunez, who entered the game in the second half.
Nunez took over for Luis Diaz, but he struggled to make an impression, with fans complaining about his lacklustre performance.
He missed a chance on the break and was flagged offside when he set up Salah.
His performance angered Liverpool fans on social media as they made their feelings known.
One X user wrote: “Darwin Nunez. The patience is slowly starting to be lost.”
A second tweeted: “60 seconds that sum up Darwin Nunez. Absolutely messes up a 2-on-1 break, and then, even though he actually plays the correct pass, is offside on another.”
A third slammed: “Uncomfortable conversations need to be had about Darwin Nunez, he’s cost us in the run in, can’t stay on side and hasn’t delivered as a £75 million striker, he simply doesn’t fit, time to get rid.”
A fourth added: “I don’t rate Darwin Nunez anymore. I was wrong about him.”
Take away goals against Sheffield United, Burnley, Brentford, and Forest, and Darwin Nunez has 5 Premier League goals this season.

He's an £85m striker who has been playing for a side that's been competing for the title most of the season.
There's no saving him.
Another commented: “I’m not letting Darwin Nunez ruin for me what has been a great performance up until he came on.”
Nunez has played 51 games in all competitions this season and scored 18 goals.
He has 11 league goals this season, but some fans are still not convinced by their £85 million forward.
