Simone Inzaghi Emerges as Top Contender to Replace Erik ten Hag as Manchester United Boss Amid Poor Run
Manchester United are reportedly considering Simone Inzaghi as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag if the Dutch manager’s struggles continue.
Following a crushing 3-0 defeat to Tottenham, Ten Hag’s future is in doubt, especially as United have only won two of their last seven matches across all competitions and sit 12th in the Premier League.
While Ten Hag was given a contract extension earlier this year, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is reportedly contemplating a change, consulting with fellow owners the Glazers, sporting director Dan Ashworth, and CEO Omar Berrada.

Simone Inzaghi, who has had a successful stint at Inter Milan since 2021, is one of the top candidates. Under Inzaghi, Inter have won five trophies, including the Serie A title, and reached the Champions League final in 2023.
His reputation for building strong, resilient teams has caught United’s attention, but he would be expected to adopt a more attacking philosophy at Old Trafford.
Another potential candidate is England manager Gareth Southgate, who is favored by some within the United hierarchy due to his close relationship with Ashworth.
